A container with counterfeit goods has been stopped at customs!
Thanks to the registration of a trademark in the Ukrainian Customs Register of Intellectual Property Rights carried out by our lawyers, the import of goods brought in by a competitor in violation of trademark rights was suspended.
In particular, the products bore our client’s trademark, while the importer had no right to use it. As a result, Kyiv Customs suspended the customs clearance of the goods and notified the authorized representative of the trademark owner.
Following consultations with the trademark owner, a notice was filed with customs confirming that the rights holder had not granted consent to this importer to bring the goods into Ukraine under the relevant trademark. Consequently, the dispute will be referred to court.
The goods remain at customs without clearance.
