It will be helpful for all office workers to know that Ukraine has the State Sanitary Regulations and Standards for working on visual display terminals of electronic computing machines, approved by the decree of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine dated December 10, 1998.
In accordance with this regulation, additional breaks for rest shall be introduced during the organization of the labor related to the use of computer equipment. In particular, the following work and rest schedule shall be established for an 8-hour day shift, depending on the nature of the work.
For software developers: a 15-minute break every hour of work on the computer shall be provided.
For typesetting operators: a 10-minute break every hour of work shall be provided.
In addition, the above-mentioned workers shall have the right to additional annual leave of 4 calendar days for the special nature of their work.
